The Middle Road

Acid in my throat, eyes open; unfocused, staring into nothing.

The middle road, like standing on two white lines; staring at my feet, trying to keep balance while being pushed on either side.
Each accelerating in opposite directions. Working together, trying to twist you so you fall.
But I'm not moving.
